Run of the Show – July 8 through July 17
Broadway at Sierra has become a community favorite and most performances played to packed houses! Hosted by the Sierra College Foundation and produced by the Performing Arts Department, this fast-paced, highly energetic whirl-wind tour of Broadway’s best featured an extremely talented cast of over 50 students and community members. The show was directed by Sierra College professors, Fred Weber and Michael Hunter, and choreographed by professor Sam Williams of American River College.
This year’s show featured segments including Broadway Junior, Art Deco, Smokey Joe’s Café, Out West, Emerald City, and Phantom. It included selections from shows such as Aida, Beauty and the Beast, Secret Garden, Mary Poppins, Oklahoma, Paint Your Wagon, Annie Oakley, Showboat, The Fantastiks, Smokey Joe’s Café, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Phantom of the Opera, The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked.
The proceeds from the event benefited the Sierra College Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization, which raises funds to help support the needs and mission of the College and its students.

Premiere Night – Thursday, July 7, 2005
This year, the Broadway at Sierra series was dedicated to Marj Sanchez, retired faculty member and supporter of Sierra College for over 40 years. Marj recently retired as an officer of the Sierra College Foundation Board and she was presented with a special award at the reception that celebrated her dedication and passion for the college.
