Credit Unions
The two (2) main Credit Unions for Sierra College are Placer Credit Union located in Auburn and School's Credit Union which has a terminal located on the Rocklin Campus.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The District contracts with CIGNA/MCC Behavioral Services to provide short term counseling benefits to employees and any family member living in the home. CIGNA assists the employee and/ or family members to set up additional or long term counseling through their health benefit carrier. CIGNA is located at 222 So. Harbor Blvd. Suite 500 in Anaheim California 91805. Their toll free hot line is 1 800 554-6931.
Life Insurance
The District provides for a $10,000 life insurance policy for regular active employees. $20,000 if the death is determined to be accidental. At the present time, The Hartford is the carrier for the District's life insurance policy. Additional life insurance is available through The Hartford. See Human Resources for details.
Short Term/Long Term Disability
The District contracts with The Hartford to provide for a short-term and long-term disability plan. This plans pays up to 66 2/3rds of the employee's salary in the event that the employee is injured outside of work or develops an illness that is non-work related that makes it necessary for the employee to be off work. This plan is coordinated with sick leave and vacation.
Tax Sheltered Annuities
For tax sheltered annuities (403b, 457) that are available to staff members, visit www.403compare.com. Forms to sign up for a 403b or 457 are available through Tax Deferred Services ( 800-542-5829) or your personal financial broker.
Voluntary Insurances
Several long term care policies are available for purchase by any employee of the District. These include Allianz Life, Allied Life, AIG/ LIFE, CalPERS Long Term Care and Bankers United Life Assurance Co. Contact Jay Clem, Clem Insurance Services (559-248-9417)
Workers' Compensation
The District contracts with Southern California Risk Management Associates to coordinate all workers' compensation claims for injury and/or illness. Contact Sue Fisher (916-789-2970) in Personnel on 2970 claim issues.
