Application Procedure
Applications for Classified, Supervisory, Full-Time Faculty and Educational Administrator positions must be received no later than the posted deadline date. Applicants will be notified by letter or phone regarding the results of initial applicant screening and invitations for interviews. This process typically takes from two to three weeks, but occasionally may take longer.
Part-Time Faculty: Sierra College accepts applications in all subject areas and conducts interviews for teaching positions throughout the year. Applications are kept in the hiring pool for a period of two years. The number of open positions varies from semester to semester. The Division Dean will contact you directly for an interview when a position becomes available.
Applications are available on the website at www.sierracollege.edu or outside the Personnel office at 5000 Rocklin Road, in Rocklin, 24 hours a day. There is also an outside drop box for applications for after hours and weekends. Faxed and emailed applications are not accepted.

Deadlines

Employment Dependencies
Employment for a qualified candidate in a position is dependent on the funding level and District financial position at time of appointment.
Faculty Assignments
The Sierra Community College District has campuses located in Rocklin and Grass Valley. In addition, the District has satellite campuses at other locations. Faculty assignments are established by the District that may carry the condition of dual work assignments.

Faculty and Administrative Application Screening Process
Applications will be forwarded to an assessment committee after the deadline date. The screening process normally takes two to three weeks, but occasionally may take longer. A limited number of qualified candidates will be invited for an oral interview and teaching demonstration before a panel of approximately six or more individuals. Final interviews will be held with the president and vice-president.
Non-Faculty Screening Process
Applications will be forwarded to an assessment committee after the deadline date. The screening process normally takes two to three weeks, but occasionally may take longer. A limited number of qualified candidates will be invited for an oral interview before a panel of approximately six or more individuals.
Transcripts
If required in the announcement, copies of transcripts must be attached or submitted by the closing date.
Travel Expenses
Travel expenses are borne by the candidate.
