Assessment Process
The Assessment Center provides reading, English and mathematics skills assessments for all new students. This assessment helps determine your skill level and can be used to recommend the appropriate course placement. By taking the assessments, you will ensure that you take the classes that are a good fit for you.
Before you can make an assessment appointment you must submit a Sierra College Online Application. You may also complete an application in person at the Rocklin, Nevada County, Roseville Gateway or Tahoe-Truckee Admission Office. Please wait 2 business days for your application to be processed, or until you receive a 'Welcome to Sierra' email containing your Student identification (ID) number.
Assessment test scores (5) years or older are not accepted for course placement. Course pre-requisites cannot be met if your test scores are (5) years or older. You must re-test or complete the required pre-requisite course with a grade of "C" or higher to satisfy the course prerequisite.

Transfer Students
Transfer students who have completed assessments at another college within the last five years may send results to the Sierra College Assessment Center, 5000 Rocklin Rd., Rocklin Ca 95677, or fax results to the Rocklin Campus at 916-630-4513, or the Nevada County Campus at 530-274-5307. Returning Students
If you have taken the assessment before you will not need to re-test again unless your test scores are five years or older and no math and English courses were completed during that time period.
