Sierra College Presents a Spring Choral Concert | Sat. May 3

The Sierra College Music Department under the
direction of Music professor Dorla Menmuir, is proud
to present a "Spring Choral Concert". The Sierra
College Concert and Chamber Choirs, will perform
works that include "E oru O", an African processional
featuring percussion, Kurt Bestor's moving tribute to
victims on the civil war in Bosnia entitled "Prayer
of the Children", and the rousing gold rush era piece
"Sac Sis Joe", featuring Fred Weber and Kathleen Earl
at the piano.

Sierra College Presents a Spring Symphony Concert | Sun. May 4

Performing groups will
include the SC Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band,
under the direction of Greg McLaughlin, and the SC
Evening Wind Orchestra, directed by Mike McAllister.
Works to be performed include "An American Elegy" by
Frank Ticheli, "A Jubilant Overture" composed by
Alfred Reed, and John Williams' music for the film
"Catch Me if You Can", featuring alto saxophonist Dan
Heflin.
