Theropod leg bone cross section

Theropod boneThis is a cross section of the mid section of a leg bone from a young theropod. The dinosaur most likely drowned in a river and its remains were washed out to sea. The decomposing carcass then disassembled and its bones were scattered on the sea bottom.

This is the only bone of a theropod dinosaur found in California. It was found by Pat Antuzzi in Granite Bay.
