Brecht on Brecht by George Tabori
Brecht on Brecht highlights the works of one of the twentieth century’s most influential playwrights. Through Bertolt Brecht’s songs, poems, and excerpts from his attempted humbling by the House Un-American Activities Committee, we explore his philosophical musings on such matters as book burning, ideology, advice on theatre, and exile.
Brecht on Brecht includes classic songs like Mack the Knife and Surabaya Johnny, as well as scenes from The Life of Galileo, The Mother, and The Jewish Wife. Bertolt Brecht’s poems illustrate his wit and intellect, as he celebrates life, never forsaking the plight of the poor and oppressed.
