Love Your Body Week

The week of events celebrates our bodies in all their diversities—size, shape, color, gender, abilities, etc. Specific events will include speakers, films, panel discussions, student projects, poetry readings, the Great Jean Give-a-way, and a display of the Body Secrets of Sierra College. Love Your Body Week is an interdisciplinary event fully conceptualized, organized, and executed by Sierra College faculty, staff, and students. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free week of events.

A Taste of Excellence

“A Taste of Excellence” is a food and wine tasting gala. This is the Foundation's largest fundraising effort, which includes a tasting of fine foods and fine wines from over 20 of the best restaurants and wineries in Northern California, as well as a silent and live auction.

Botanical Society Plant Sale/Lectures

In the fall and spring buy plants for your yard and garden.

They also have three lectures each semester by well known local experts.

Chamber Music Alive!

Now beginning its fourth season, Chamber Music Alive!, is underwritten by the Sierra College Foundation, Fidelity Investments and other individual and corporate donors. It has grown in audience and acclaim since its inaugural season, and attracts an ever more distinguished group of artists to its roster. Chamber Music Alive presents identical programs at two locations: St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Sacramento and at the Dietrich Theatre at Sierra College, in Rocklin.

Dinosaur Day

Every two years the Natural History Museum presents the world of dinosaurs! Hands-on activities, exhibits, lectures and food. The 2007 Dino Day is over.

Earth Week

Earth Days in April celebrates our planet and its beauties and threats. Music, food, & booths. A John Muir play ends the week on Friday night.

Film Masterpieces

Every semester the English 37/38 class shows film masterpieces in Dietrich Theatre on Monday and Tuesday nights. The class begins at 6 pm and the movie begins later depending on the length of the film. The public is welcome to attend free of charge. Fall is for American films and Spring shows international film masterpieces.

People and Culture Days

Held every October, the event is an annual celebration of human diversity around the world. It is designed to foster world peace, understanding, resolution, and solutions relative to the major human conflicts on Earth. Last year's event was held October 24 - 25, 2007. Wednesday's event included Campus Sustainability Day.

Ridley Gallery Christmas Student Art Sale

Every December the Ridley Gallery has a large assortment of art work by students available for sale for your gift giving needs.

Ridley Gallery Student Art Show

Every spring the Ridley Gallery has a show of student art work. Awards and prizes are given to the best work.

Scollies

The Scollies Animation and Video Festival features eye-popping creativity from festival contestants. Accepted contestants have a chance to win one of six $300 scholarships, to make professional industry contacts, and to have work presented and recognized on a big screen in front of the community. Held every 2-3 years.

Social Justice Days

Each spring are exhibits relating to social justice in our country and the world.

Wolverine Athletic Association Golf Tournament

A spring golf tournament open to all.
