The Human Development and Family curriculum provides students with the necessary education for employment in child development programs, as well as in programs for adults, including the elderly. These career opportunities may be related to education, health, or social services. Students may proceed up a career ladder to various levels of employment and learning. Curriculum within this area affords students the opportunity to enhance their quality of life and meet general education requirements through courses in marriage, management, family, parenting, and human development. Certificates and A.A./A.S. degrees are provided which correspond to the Child Development Permit Matrix and meet qualifications for directors and teachers of young children. There are opportunities for specialization in infant or school age development and care. The following certificate and degrees are based upon the Child Development Permit Matrix, Title 5, State Department of Education.
