  • Justin is yearning to get back onto the mound after two years of absence due to an elbow injury. After receiving “Tommy John” surgery this last April he hopes to make an impact for the Wolverines this 08’ season. Before coming to Sierra College he attended Rocklin High School where he played for coach Roc Murray. As a junior he was the closer and as a senior he was the ace for the Thunder, each year winning “Pitcher of the Year” and Team MVP awards as a senior. As a senior he set records for all time strikeouts in a season (118), wins (8), and complete games (8). He also made the All SFL first team while coming in second in votes for SFL MVP, Optimist All Star Team, and the Sacramento All-Metro (second team). He threw a total of 74 innings his last season while only walking 13 batters with a 1.20 ERA.. Justin cannot wait to get back onto the mound and start pitching again.

  • Jeremy comes to Sierra College after attending Rocklin High School where he played three years of varsity baseball. Jeremy played shortstop and pitched and had four or more starts in his sophomore, junior, and senior year on the mound. He was given Honorable Mention his sophomore and junior year compiling eight wins and four losses. His senior year along with winning a Section Championship Jeremy made the Optimist Team, was named First Team All-Metro, was inducted into the Rocklin High School Hall of Fame, and was given the honors of the Sierra Foothill League Player of the Year and Section Championship MVP. His senior year Jeremy batted .389 with a .481 OBP and came third in the league in RBI's with 26. In his 15 starts Jeremy won 10 and lost only 2, he set records in Total Wins, Inning's Pitched Regular Season and Career, Most RBI's in Playoffs, and Wins during Playoffs. Jeremy will stick to pitching this year but will hopefully venture back into the infield his sophomore year. Jeremy's greatest memory was dog piling with his teammates after winning the Section Championship for the first time in Rocklin history.

  • Josh returns to the Wolverine baseball program in 2008 after being apart of the ’07 Elite 8 squad. Last summer he played for the Danville Dans in the Central Illinois Collegiate League where he was named to the All-Star team consisting of college players from all over the country. Before coming to Sierra College Josh played two sports in high school, football and baseball, and excelled in both of them. Josh has a lot of potential to excel as a pitcher as he has a very strong arm and great work ethic. Josh works very hard to be the best that he can be and make everyone else around him better. Josh is a very fierce competitor and loves to win. Josh plans to do whatever asked of him to get Sierra to the state championship and win. Josh’s most memorable sports moment was when he was in high school and the summer before his senior year. Josh was part of a Roseville West Seniors team, along with Sierra College teammate Cameron Ray, which advanced all the way to the Western Regionals and fell just two games short of the World Series in a heartbreaking loss to Pearl City, Hawaii. Although Josh’s team lost, it was a great experience to advance as far as they did.

  • Brandon comes to Sierra College after attending Roseville High where he played both varsity basketball and baseball for three years. Brandon’s role was a starter at Roseville where he compiled a 7-2 record his senior year with an ERA of 1.25 and only had 13 walks in 56 innings pitched. His senior year he was elected to the First Team All Sierra Foothill League in both basketball and baseball. He also was elected to the Optimist Team as the starting pitcher. His fondest baseball memory was when he was a sophomore and he was pulled up to the varsity baseball team for a tournament. His team was in the championship game of the JMC Homes tournament and was playing Woodcreek High School, who ended up being the Sac-Joaquin Division II Section champs. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball, and only gave up one hit helping to lead his team to victory.

  • Brian returns to Sierra College after playing two years of varsity baseball at Casa Roble. He has a strong determination to compete. It showed after being cut his first two years of high school and trying out a third time and making it his junior year. Brian possesses the ability to keep hitters off balance with his side-arm delivery, which is necessary with his below average fastball. Brian’s best baseball memory was making the team his junior year in high school. He was very disappointed after not making it the previous two years and didn’t really want to try out another time. His parents convinced him to do so. The day of cuts he was half expecting to be cut after what had happened the last two years, but he wasn’t. Making the team showed Brian that if you are willing to work for something you can achieve it. He is looking forward to improving on what he accomplished last season and advance to the state playoffs.

  • Jesse joins the 2008 Sierra College baseball program after a successful career in both football and baseball at El Camino High School. He also got an opportunity to be coached in both sports by legendary Wolverine pitcher Mike Passifione. Jesse was named to the first team All Capital Athletic League as a quarterback and pitcher and played in the Optimist baseball game. Jesse looks forward to a successful freshman season with the Wolverines and hopes to continue with a solid career on the mound for many years to come.

  • Tyler returns to the Wolverines for his sophomore season after transferring from Oregon State in the spring of ‘07. He was 9-2 with a 3.26 ERA last season for the Elite 8 Sierra College Wolverines. With those numbers Tyler was named to the 1st team All Big “7” Conference Team. He played high school football and baseball at Ponderosa and was All Sierra Valley League in baseball 2005-06. Tyler was named to the Sac bee All-Metro team as a pitcher in 2005, as well as being selected to the Area Code Games in Long Beach. After the 2006 high school season Tyler was also chosen to represent California in the Sun Belt Classic in Norman, Oklahoma. Tyler’s most memorable sports moment was his best pitching performance to date in the 2005 Sac-Joaquin Section Play-offs. He was throwing against Bella Vista and their ace Tyler Robertson. Both Tylers battled for 10 grueling innings and Graham finished with 16 strikeouts and 1 hit while allowing no runs. This battle went down as one of the most exciting pitching duels in the history of Sacramento high school baseball. Tyler is looking forward to his first taste of collegiate baseball and is happy to be playing with many of his friends here at Sierra College.

  • Mitch comes to Sierra College after red-shirting one year at Sacramento City College. Prior to that he played four years of varsity baseball for the Fall River Bulldogs. He also played two years of JV football and two years of varsity football, winning the section championship both years. His senior year for the Bulldogs he had a .475 batting average with 27 RBI’s and 5 HR. He pitched and played shortstop. In 58 innings pitched he compiled a.966 ERA with 81 strike outs and was 7-0 in league. In his first year of college ball he battled elbow problems all year. He fought through it and comes back this year with great expectations and hopes of a very successful year. Mitch has a good fastball with and exceptional change-up and breaking ball. He is a hard working athlete with a good work ethic, is a good team mate, and has an unmatched will to win. He keeps a positive attitude throughout. This year he plans to battle for a lot of innings and will do the best that he can. Mitch’s best baseball memories where pitching for the Auburn Post 84 American Legion team and winning the California State American Legion Championship. Also last year being a part of a great team and coming so close to State Final Four last year. Coming so close to getting there last year has only added fuel to the fire to win.

  • Chris Johnson comes to Sierra College after playing three years of varsity baseball and football for the Del Campo High School Cougars. He is known to put his team mates before himself and has a strong will to win. Chris’s best baseball memory goes back to when he would just play a simple game of catch with his father. He remembers going out into the street, in front of his house and over throwing his father one time, breaking a window to their house. His father was mad at first, but was happy to see his son showed such a strong arm at such a young age. Chris believes that working hard will take you as far as you want to go in not only baseball but in life. Chris hopes to help Sierra College have another successful season and would love to see the Wolverines make it back to Fresno for the State Championship Tournament.

  • Seth comes to Sierra College after attending Bear River High where he graduated in 2002. At Bear River, Seth was a first team all league selection in 2001 while compiling a 1.14 era and a record of 8-2 in his junior season. His senior year he hit .448 with 3 home runs and a second consecutive first team all league in the Sierra Foothill League. After graduation Seth attended a local junior college for three years. In 2003, 2005, and 2006 Seth was an assistant Junior Varsity baseball coach at Bear River. He was also the head coach of the 2006 Bear River junior legion team. His playing career has been stalled due to 4 surgeries, but is happy to be back and playing for the Wolverines in 2008.

  • Cameron comes to Sierra College after playing two years of varsity baseball at Roseville high. As a junior he ended the season with a 1.91 ERA and a record of 6-3 which led to a second team SFL All-league award. Cameron works well with his teammates and is very willing to accept input on the coaches’ ideas for different methods of pitching. As a hard-throwing right hander he challenges every hitter with a different style and release. This year Cameron plans to contribute to a championship team with dreams of having a successful career for years to come. His favorite baseball memory was last season’s playoffs at home where he pitched a complete 9 inning game against Modesto and won 6-2 allowing no walks. It was the final game of Round 1 of the State Play-offs.
Dustin Stoddard

  • Dustin comes to Sierra from Jesuit High School where he played basketball and baseball. Dustin had a 0.70 ERA his senior year. Over the summer he finished the season by throwing two complete game victories in the western regional tournament with 21 K’s in 14 innings against Montana and Hawaii. The team then advanced, losing in a one run ball game to Southern California who went on to the World Series.
Scott Tully

  • Scott joins the Sierra College team as a red shirt freshman. His collegiate athletic career began at the University of Nevada, Reno where he was recruited as a quarterback for the Wolf Pack football team. Although injuries cut his initial season and football career short, Scott transferred to Sierra and immediately rededicated himself to baseball. While at Saint Mary’s High School in Berkeley, he played baseball, football and basketball. He was a pitcher and first baseman for the Panthers, starting on the varsity team all four years, making the North Coast Section playoffs his final three seasons. In football, he was a three-year varsity starter at quarterback on squads that likewise made the sectional playoffs each season. He was listed as a Scout.com “Best in State: Class of 2005” as a quarterback. In basketball, during Scott’s senior season he was a member of the Saint Mary’s basketball team that won the Northern California championship and played in the state finals at Arco Arena. Scott’s most memorable baseball moment is making the 2008 Sierra baseball team, having previously been told by the Nevada training staff that his athletic career was probably over.

  • McKenzie comes to Sierra College after playing two years of varsity baseball at Granite Bay High School. McKenzie came out of the bullpen for the Grizzlies and had a 2.16 ERA and 2 saves in 22 innings pitched. McKenzie had a 2-1 record for the Grizzlies. In his senior year, Granite Bay made it all the way to the CIF Section Championship game, yet lost to Rocklin. McKenzie has high hopes, and is excited about a winning season with a very talented Wolverine line-up.
