Scholar Athlete News:

As a result of finishing 2nd in State this past season, four standout local student-athletes have committed to play basketball at four-year universities.

  • Local player Becca Arent of Del Oro HS (Loomis) signed with California State University, Stanislaus and the coaches have big plans for utilizing her shot blocking skills.
  • Sophomore forward Haley Limpah, a graduate from Union Mine HS, signed with Menlo College located in the Bay Area. Menlo won their conference and looking to make it back to the National Tournament.
  • Mesa Verde graduate Sarah McVicar (All-State Selection) will be playing for California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
  • Phieban Mulatu of Center HS signed with Cascade College of Oregon. Cascade Head Coach's statement.
  • In addition to these 4 players, five other sophomores were offered opportunities to play at the next level, however they chose to focus on their academic endeavors.
