NorCal Championships

I’m very proud of our women’s cross country team. Since re-establishing the team three years ago, we have qualified for the State Meet twice. So, in addition to having individual women place in the top three at State, we have our second full team qualified. The team is looking forward to State. We feel we have more to show and plan to work hard over the next two weeks to prepare for the November 20th race in Fresno.

Big 8 Conference Championships

The big 8 Conference was a real break through for our team. We fought illness and injury the whole regular season. Our 3rd place finish at conference elevated our NorCal ranking to 4th. We'll have our work cut out for us, but I believe the team will respond.

Jim Hunt Invitational

The Jim Hunt Invitational was contested on September 22, 2007 at Sierra College. Jim and his wife Joann were in attendance. The Wolverine women placed 3rd in the 5K race. Led by Vanessa Diaz with a time of 22:39, LT Cisneros(24:43) and Danelle Romo(25:17) followed up.

The next meet will be the Lou Vasquez contested in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The race starts at 3:30PM.

Shasta Invitational

The Sierra College women’s cross country team won the Shasta Invitational Saturday, September 15th. Coming off an impressive 4th place finish at the Beaver Invitational, the Wolverines won in a big way. The ladies finished with 20 points—over 20 points ahead of the next place team.

Big 8 Scrimmage

The women’s Wolverine Cross Country team opened their season, at home, in the Big 8 Conference Scrimmage. The team is one of the largest in the conference and is led by freshman, Brittany Cino. Coach Neff is very pleased with the performance of the team. Especially, since a number of our athletes had never competed in a race before.
