Sierra 5, San Jose City College 6
On Saturday, the Wolverines gave up a run in the first and despite many chances, the Wolverines were unable to score a run. Final score 1-0.
Sunday, May 11
Sierra 0, San Jose City College 1
The Sierra College softball ended their season on Sunday with a 5-6 loss to San Jose City College. San Jose scored 4 runs in the first inning on 2 hits and 2 base on balls and 1 Sierra error. Sierra came up in their half of the inning and scored 3 runs on 2 hits, 2 base on balls and 1 San Jose City error.
In the 5th San Jose scored 2 runs on a bases loaded double. In the 7th inning Nicole Kociemba hit a 2 run homer. The Wolverines were unable to score another run. Nicole Kociemba came took over on the mound in the 1st inning reliefing Leticia Cisneros. Nicole gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Sierra 9, Cabrillo 1
Game 1 was a slugfest for the Sierra. Bo Newman hit, her first, homer run over the fence in left field to end the game early due to the mercy rule. Pado Morales went 2-4 with a double and 3 RBIs and Karra Leota was 2-4 with 2 RBI. Nicole Kociemba picked up another win.

Sierra 7, Cabrillo 2
Karra Leota was on fire again with a 2-4 day with 2 RBI. Pado Morales came off the bench, with bases loaded, to hit a base clearing double. Carli Leary was 3-4 on the day. The Wolverines had 7 runs on 12 hits. Nicole Kociemba secured another win.
The Wolverines are now headed to San Jose City to take on the Jaguars in a best of 3 series this next weekend.

Sierra 1, Cosumnes River 3
Game #1 The Wolverines scored and single run in the 2nd inning to take a 1-0 lead over the Cosumnes River Hawks. The run came off the bat of Bo Newman to score Rachel Hamilton from second. CRC scored in their half of the 2nd due to an error in the Sierra College outfield. The game was deadlock in the 6th when CRC scored 2 runs on a bases loaded single down the right field line. The final score CRC 3 Sierra 1
Sierra 1, Cosumnes River 3
Game #2 The only Wolverine run was scored in the 4th inning when Jessica Powell sent a solo shot over the centerfield fence. CRC scored 3 runs in the 3rd off of 4 hits and 1 hit batter. The final score CRC 3 Sierra 1.
The Wolverines will find out tonight what send there are and who they will play in the post season. They ended their season 36-12 and 17-4 in conference. They are 2nd in the Big 8 Conference

Sierra 0, Sacramento City 5
Game #1 Sac City jumped on Sierra College in the first inning scoring 1 on 2 hits and 1 Sierra College error. The Wolverines attempts at the plate failed as they only collected 2 hits in 7 innings. After giving up a 2 run homer in the 2nd, Nicole Kociemba was lifted and replaced by Leticia Cisneros. Leticia held the Panthers to just one hit in 3 innings. In the 6th Whitney Pierson gave Leticia a break and gave up a 2 run homer in the 6th. With the Wolverine bats none existent the game ended with a score of 5-0 in favor of Sacramento City College.
Sierra 4, Sacramento City 5
Game #2 Leticia Cisneros started game 2 and gave up 3 runs in the first inning on 2 base on balls, 2 hits and 1 Sierra College error. In the 3rd, Nicole Kociemba relieve Cisneros and held the panther to 3 hits over 4 innings. In the 4th Karra Leota started the inning off with a double and scored on Nicole Kociemba's double. Nicole scored on a single up the middle by Jessica Powell. The game is 3-2 panthers at this point. In the 5th Karra Leota hit a solo home run over the left field fence to even the score. Sac City hit a solo homer in their half of the 5th off the bat of the Bruno who plays 1st. Sac City squeezed another run across in the 5th making the score 5-3 panthers. In the 7th the wolverines scored a single run when Bo Newman scored Candice Wermes who reached on a hit and was bunted over to second by Courtney Olow. With 2 outs the Wolverines had a runner in scoring position when Carli Leary rip a line drive to centerfield that was snagged by the Panthers centerfielder. The final score Sac City 5 Sierra 4

Sierra 5, Modesto 4
Sierra 9, Modesto 0
Sierra continued their quest for a conference title by moving to 17-0 with 2 wins over the visiting Pirates from Modesto. The game was a nail bitter for the Lady Wolverines with being down 3-1 in the 4th inning the Wolverines broke it open with a lead-off single by Megan Renn and a double by Karra Leota that scored Renn from 1st. Then an error by the shortstop allowed Nicole Kociemba to reach base and Leota and Kociemba both scored on a single by Jessica Powell. The Wolverines went on to win the game with a score of 5-4 and Nicole Kociemba picked up the win and struck out 10.
In the second game the Wolverine bats came alive scoring 7 runs in the second inning. The inning began with a home run by Jessica Powell and with 5 straight single by Courtney Olow, Cortney Jones, Megan Renn, Karra Leota and Nicole Kociemba. Then Jessica Powell came up again in the second inning and hit a double to clear the bases. 4 out of the 7 runs scored in the second inning were RBI's by centerfielder Jessica Powell. The game ended in the 5th inning due to the mercy rule and 8 out of the 9 players on the field were sophomores playing their last regular season game for the Wolverines. Final score was Sierra 9 Modesto 0 and Leticia Cisneros pitched a 2 hitter.
Next up is a double header at Sac City on Saturday-April 19th which could be for the conference championship. First pitch is at 12:00. The Wolverines will end their regular season with a double header at Cosumnes River College on Tuesday-April 22nd with the first pitch at 2:00.
The seeding meeting will be Friday-April 25th at Sierra College. The Wolverines will then know where they are seeded and who they are playing.

Sierra 2, Sacramento City 0
The Big 8 conference 1st half showdown was a thriller. It was a pitchers duel going into the 5th inning when Candice Wermes lead off the inning with a base hit. Courtney Olow attempted a sacrifice bunt to move Wermes but the panthers misplayed the bunt and both runners were safe. Megan Renn laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Wermes to 3rd and Olow to 2nd. With 1 out Carli Leary grounded out to 3rd. And with runners on 2nd and 3rd Cortney Jones looped a base hit to left field to score both runs. Nicole Kociemba picked up the win as the Wolverines move to 6-0 in conference and 21-8 overall.
Next game is at home this Thursday against the Hawks from Cosumnes River College.

Sierra 6, Modesto 2
The Wolverines traveled to Modesto for a Big 8 conference game on Tuesday and came away with another win. Modesto scored a run in the first inning on a walk and a hit. In the second inning they scored again with a walk and a double. The Wolverines struck in the 3rd with with a 1 out double by Karra Leota. Nicole Kociemba flew out to the shortstop and with 2 outs and a runner on second. Bo Newman grounded out to short, but due to catchers interference she was awarded first and Karra Leota advanced to second.
With 2 outs and runners on 1st and 3rd Jessica Powell and Candice Wermes delivered back to back hits to score both Leota and Kociemba. In the 5th, Megan Renn drove in Candice Wermes and Jessica Powell with a double to the gap in center. Sierra scored again in the 6th to secure the 6-2 win. Nicole Kociemba recieved the win.
The Wolverines face the Sacramento City panther at home on Thursday at 3:00. Sierra and City are both tied for 1st in the big 8 conference. Sierra is 19-7 overall.

Sierra 5, American River 1
In a 3rd inning Sierras #9 batter, Cortney Jones, hit a solo home run. Then the next batter, lead off Karra Leota, hit a solo homer. So going back to back put the Beavers down 2 in the 3rd.
In the 4th inning Carli Leary started the inning off with a single and scored on Karra Leotas double to left field. In the fifth inning Pado Morales was hit by a pitch and Courtney Olow drove the ball to the right field fence to score Pado. Then Carli Leary scored Olow on and single to center field.
In the sixth ARC scored a run on two back to back hits. Sierra had 5 runs on 10 hits and 1 error and ARC had 1 run on 4 hits and 5 errors. Sierra is 4-0 in conference and 15-6 overall.

Sierra 8, Santa Rosa Junior College 0
The visiting Wolverines jumped on the Bear Cubs in the first inning scoring 5 runs. With bases load Courtney Olow drill and line drive down the first bases line for an in the park home run. Karra Leota again provided the Wolverines with offense power going 3-4 with 2 RBI’s and a stolen base.
The game took 59 minutes and was ended in the 5th inning. Sierra had 8 runs on 8 hits and no errors. Leticia Cisneros received the win.

Sierra 12, Redwoods 0
Sierra was visitors and come out swinging scoring 5 runs in the first inning. Bo Newman drove in 3 runs in the first with a double to left-center with the bases loaded. In the 4th inning the Wolverines put together another rally scoring 6 runs. Megan Wheeler had a bases loaded double to the left-center gap to clear the bases. Pado Morales also played a big part in the rally with 2 RBI.
The game ended in the 5th inning due to the mercy rule. Sierra ended with 12 runs on 19 hits and no errors. Wittney Pierson received the win.
Sierra 9, Porterville 1
Karra Leota led the game off with a double and the Wolverines continued their slug fest. They scored 3 runs that inning off of Pado Morales and her base clearing double. Inning 2 began with a few singles by Bo Newman, Jessica Powell and Courtney Olow. Nicole Kociemba then cleared the table with a triple down the left field line. The downside to this game was when, second baseman, Amanda Morales broke her hand sliding head first into second base. Amanda is a sophomore team captain and will be out 4 weeks.
The game ended in the 5th due to the mercy rule and Sierra had 9 runs on 10 hits and 1 error. Leticia Cisneros got the win.
Sierra 0, Cuesta 3
This was a pitchers duel. Nicole Kociemba versus Elyssa Fox. Nicole stuck out 9 and Elyssa stuck out 10. Nicole led off the 6th inning with a triple to left. But, unfortunately the Wolverines were unable to score her. Then Cuesta leads off their half of the 6th with a single then a walk and then 2 singles were they scored 3 runs.
Sierra ended that game with 0 runs on 2 hits and 0 errors and Cuesta had 3 runs on 3 hits and 1 error. It was a good game.
Sunday March 9
Sierra 9, Chabot 0
This game also ended in the 5th inning due to the mercy rule. Sierra scored 5 runs in the 4th inning on doubles by Carli Leary, Pado Morales, and Jessica Powell. And, also in the 5th inning were Triples by Pado Morales and Bo Newman. Sierra secured the victory with 9 runs on 9 hits and no errors.
Sierra 13, Butte 4
This was another 5 inning game and Megan Renn was 3 for 4 with an RBI. The big bang came from Carli Leary, in the 3rd inning, with a bases loaded triple to leftfield. Then the bases were loaded again in the same inning and Bo Newman cleared the bases with a double to left-center. Nicole Kociemba got the win and Sierra had 13 runs on 12 hits and 1 error.
