Spot the Elusive Wolverine
Sierra Searches for Elusive Wolverines
Inspired by the first photo in the wild of a California wolverine (the mammal) taken February 2008, the Sierra College Wolverine Athletic Association had an idea. And since the photo was taken by the remote camera of Katie Moriarty, a former Sierra College student athlete, it was a natural.
From August 31st to October 15th, the WAA held the “Search for Elusive Wolverines” contest in an attempt to capture glimpses of some of Sierra College’s most elusive wolverines—former athletic alumni.
A $100 cash prize, as well two passes for all 2008-2009 athletic sporting events were the rewards. Points were awarded for creativity and every contestant submiting a “Wolverine Sighting” also won a t-shirt from the WAA.
Athletics play a key role in the total experience of campus life at Sierra College and the primary purpose of the Wolverine Athletic Association is to provide additional funding support for the men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports.
