English 11 is a course for the skilled, proficient reader who is engaged in college-level academic work. English 11 explores critical thinking through examination of authorial intention, fallacy, and purpose and the applications of those concepts to a wide variety of texts including essays, novels, and book-length non-fiction. English 11 concentrates on determining and relating theme, tone, purpose and intention across a wide variety of texts. English 11 is an ideal course to take in conjunction with any transfer level composition course.
English 11 is currently offered as a hybrid course where the students meet with the instructor throughout the term to develop an individualized set of assignments and activities that integrate with the course curriculum.
