English 570

English 570 is a course for the reader transitioning to the academic world. English 570 offers an introduction to reading in an academic environment and focused practice on applying those skills to a variety of different texts. Students will develop vocabulary skills, fluency and study skills. English 570 focuses on paragraphs and short essays. Literal comprehension skills are stressed in English 570: What does the author say and where and how does he or she say it? Students in English 570 will practice their skill development in a lab environment as part of their course work.
