Fashion Design and Merchandising is one of the career areas in the field of fashion. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers in industrial and small business settings as well as continue in advanced study. Examples of career opportunities are alterationist, sewing room supervisor, production cutter, grader, samplemaker, pattern maker, assistant designer, piece goods buyer, and custom designer/seamstress.
