The Sierra College Library maintains a selection
of research tools for the exploration of women's contributions and
issues in a global context. Proquest, Gender Watch, Ethnic News
Watch, News Bank and EBSCOhost would be good starting points.
Since "gender" alone does not describe women's experience,
"class" and "race" are often used in conjunction
when examining the complex lives of women. In addition, "ethnicity,"
"sexual orientation," "culture" and "disability"
are often added to the research strategy. For example, although

captures over 1200 subjects, consider the subject headings when
researching women and gender issues:
