Forestry Department

The Forestry program is designed to prepare graduates for transfer to four-year institutions offering four-year degrees in forestry and other natural resource-related fields. Summer employment opportunities are excellent because the program allows students to work through the summer and into late fall, making a long work season. Assistance is given in finding positions in forest surveying, recreation, timber management, fire fighting, road engineering, insect and disease control, logging, forest product manufacturing, nursery practices, and general conservation. In addition, the completion of this program has been approved as substituting for two years of experience toward qualifying for a California Professional Forester's License.
