Job Postings - Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I advertise a job opening?
    Sierra Job Link is the only official Sierra posting site. You can select who sees your position: Sierra Students, Alumni or Community. If you select Community, your position will be available on a nationwide basis.
  • How long does the posting stay on the site?
    The pre-set expiration date is 30 days after you initially post; you may designate a different expiration date when you enter the position or re-post at any time. Your position stays in the system but inactive after the expiration date—with the click of a button you can renew your position with no additional input required.
  • What is required to post a job?
    You must fill out an Employer Registration form on the site then submit it for review. Within 48 hours (2 business days), you will receive an email back, supplying you with a password. Jobs must be offered on an hourly wage, at least California minimum wage. For our full Posting policy, please review the SCCD SJL Employer Policy.
  • Where is the job posted?
    The jobs are posted in binders in Career Connections Department.
  • Is there a fee?
    No, Sierra Job Link is free to employers, student and alumni.
  • Can I do on-campus recruitment?
    Yes, for information on making these arrangements, go to On-Campus Recruiting.
  • Can I visit Career Connections to inquire about posting jobs?
    We welcome visits by our employersif you require extensive assistance, please call ahead and make an appointment.
