This is payment in-between semesters when school is not in session. There are certain guidelines that must be followed to receive payment:

Interval Pay cannot be received if:
- The break is more than 8 weeks.
- Student is on active duty.
- Student requests no pay for a break before payment for the break is authorized.
- Student withdrew from all courses during the proceeding term.
- Training time the last day of the proceeding term was less than one-half time.
- The term before or after the break is shorter than the break.
- The student will exhaust his or her entitlement and not paying the break is to the student's advantage.
- Subject to change by Regional VA at anytime.
