At Sierra, education extends beyond the classroom. As a cultural hub for the region, community members and students enjoy live theater and music events, forums and public lectures from renowned experts, special district-wide celebrations like Earth Week, Dino Day and athletic competitions by our nationally ranked teams.

Sierra's Art and Natural History Museums attract visitors from around the world. The college is also home to programs like the online Center for Sierra Nevada Studies and the Sierra College Press, the nation's only academic press on a community college campus.

Sierra College Press ejournals

Since 2008 the Sierra College Press has published two online only ejournals:

Snowy Range Reflections: The Journal of Sierra Nevada History and Biography

Examines the fascinating history and characters of what John Muir called “The Range of Light.”

The Journal of the Sierra College Natural History Museum

Provides information about the college’s extraordinary museum and the natural history of our region and the world.
