Trustee Area 3 includes the following K-12 school district boundaries within Placer and Sacramento Counties: Center Joint Unified School District, and Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District, and Roseville City Elementary School District
Trustee Area 4 includes the following K-12 school district boundaries within Placer County: Eureka Union Elementary School District, Loomis Union Elementary School District (except Ophir Elementary School), Newcastle Elementary School District, and Rocklin Unified School District
Trustee Area 7 includes the following K-12 school district boundaries within Placer and Nevada Counties: Chicago Park Elementary School District, Nevada City Elementary School District, Twin Ridges Elementary School District, Alta-Dutch Flat Union Elementary School District, and Colfax Elementary School District
Each candidate must be 18 years of age, a citizen of the State of California, and a registered voter residing in Sierra College trustee area 3, 4 or 7.

Note: If an incumbent does not file, the period will be extended five days until August 15, 2012.
There is no cost to file, however candidates that choose to have candidate statements printed in sample ballots are responsible for the costs. Candidates may choose to have candidate statements printed in any or all of the ballots printed in the four counties making up Sierra College (Placer, Nevada, and portions of Sacramento and El Dorado). Cost information may be obtained from the county elections offices (may exceed $5,000 if statements are placed in all four ballots).

Board Meetings
The Board of Trustees generally meets the second Tuesday of every month, with meetings at the Nevada County campus and Truckee campus at least once a year. All day planning meetings are held at least once per year.
The compensation for board members is currently $400 per month, prorated for the number of meetings that month (see Board Policy 2725). Board members are entitled to reimbursement of Board related and approved travel expenses (see Board Policy 2735). Board members may also elect to receive such health, life and welfare benefits as are extended to District management employees (see Board Policy 2730).
