The Sierra College Foundation is proud to present the tenth annual "A Taste of Excellence," a Food and Wine Tasting event. This "Perfect!" event will celebrate a decade of giving and it will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, on the Sierra College campus in Rocklin. "A Taste of Excellence," the premier event of Placer County, is the Foundation’s largest fund-raising effort and includes a tasting of fine foods and wines from the best restaurants and wineries in Northern California, as well as a silent and live auction. The Sierra College Foundation supports students by funding their pursuit of a higher education, and providing the resources to help guide them toward success. The Foundation is supported by many generous community members, corporations, alumni, staff and faculty who donate their time and financial support to building our campus community.

The Sierra College Foundation has over 170 scholarships available for students to apply for each year. Former Marine, Patrick O’Toole, took advantage of this opportunity and was awarded the Merry Widows scholarship and the Wally Edward Skudlas Scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year. This funding has given Patrick and his son a wonderful chance to start anew after enduring an injury which forced him to change his profession. Patrick says, “Coming back to school has been a huge adventure for me, and the doors of assistance and support keep opening up the more I commit and the deeper I involve myself in my academic pursuits.”

A Noble Event
Thank you to the 2013 event chair Holly Tiche, our sponsors, participating restaurants and wineries, volunteers, donors, bidders, and attendees for a very successful event. With your help, we were able to raise over $150,000 with over $60,000 benefitting the Sierra College student internship program. Through the generosity of our donors, an additional 250 students will be able to participate in the internship program, providing these students with valuable work experience and our community partners with well-qualified employees.
Sierra College depends on the money raised from this successful event each year to fund many of its programs.

Multiply the Impact of Your Gift
Corporations encourage employees and retirees to make charitable gifts by agreeing to match personal donations with an equal or greater corporate contribution.
To initiate a matching gift, please complete your employer’s matching gift form (either through your company’s matching gift online system or by completing a hard copy form) and send it, along with your gift, to Sierra College Foundation. We will complete the form, certifying that we have received your gift and that it is an eligible match. We then send the form to your employer (or verify online if applicable), who sends the matching funds to Sierra College Foundation. Upon receipt of the matching gift, we will notify you in writing.
The Foundation is independently audited and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, most of whom live and work in the communities served by the Sierra College Community College District of Placer, Nevada, parts of Sacramento and El Dorado.
Your gift will be used for the purpose for which you have designated the funds.
