The Sierra College Political Science Club will host a Political Awareness Day titled My Voice Counts, on Tuesday, October 23, from 9am to 2pm on the Rocklin Campus Quad. Students and community members will get the opportunity to gather information about propositions, meet political candidates, civic organizations, as well as supporters and opponents of all the initiatives that will be on the November ballot. This is a FREE event and we welcome and encourage the public to attend.
About 40 organizations will be on campus to promote their political platforms. Some of these groups include:

Immediately following the information fair on the Campus Quad, attendees can gather in the Dietrich Theatre at 2:00pm, where keynote speaker, Senator Darrell Steinberg will discuss Education in California and the Importance of Your Vote.
As stated by our 32nd President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, “Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.”
