Have you danced to Mariachi music? Can you make a Japanese origami crane? These are just a few of the things you can participate in at the eleventh annual People and Culture Days held at Sierra College on Wednesday October 23 and Thursday October 24, 2013. Events and Festivities will happen at and around the Amphitheater on the Rocklin campus from 10 am– 2 pm. All are welcome to attend this free event.
Come experience cultures from around the globe right here in Rocklin. There will be music and entertainment on the festival stage, international food, informational booths and posters, art, dancing, Moroccan arts and crafts, Nicaraguan pottery and much more.
Pick up an event Passport from the Embassy booth and look for the answers to the questions by talking with event participants and examining the posters. Enter a drawing with a completed passport to win a prize. As Tim Haenny, Student Life Coordinator, says, “It is a wonderful celebration of the many cultures that attend Sierra College.”
People and Cultures Days are designed to foster world peace and promote understanding of different cultures and global issues. For more information and the festival schedule, contact French professor and event organizer, Laurence Lambert-Marandi, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
