Women's Basketball - Our Coaches
Head Coach - Brandie Murrish
Brandie Murrish begins her sixth season heading the Sierra College Women’s Basketball program with a roster full of new faces and potential, and, because they reside in the rugged Big 8 Conference, a season of hard work ahead of them.
Under Murrish, the team has a 98-38 overall record, with the highlight being the 2006-2007 campaign when, as a first-year coach, her Wolverines finished 2nd in the California Community College State Championship Tournament and compiled an overall record of 32-5. As a result, her peers voted her 2006-2007 Northern Region Coach of the Year.
Prior to her position at Sierra College, Coach Murrish guided Bishop Alemany High School, a premier Catholic high school in Southern California, to the CIF Division Finals in 2005-2006. Appropriately, she was named the CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year. From 1998-2000, Coach Murrish was an Assistant Coach at her alma mater, California Lutheran University. During that time, her teams won the SCIAC championship and made it to the 2nd round of the NCAA playoffs.
As a student-athlete at Butte College, Coach Murrish was named the Butte County Sophomore Athlete of the Year. While playing at California Lutheran University, she earned 1st Team All-Conference honors.
Her educational experience include a Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Technology from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ and a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge.
