A member of the Big 8, Sierra College women’s golf is a Northern California powerhouse. Since 2000, Sierra has six conference championships, one NorCal title and four top-four state finishes. In 2011, Head Coach Kim Silva took over a program from Hall of Famer Karen Linde that produced two conference MVPs and 25 All-Conference golfers.
The Sierra College women's golf team closed out a sensational 2014 season Nov. 17 with a third place finish in the CCCAA State Championship at Morro Bay. Coach Kim Silva's Wolverines had Monday's top team score but were unable to overtake champion College of the Desert (644), which took the title by three strokes over runner-up Canyons (647) and six strokes over Sierra (650). Two-time All-State sophomore April Chang carded a two-day 151, capping arguably the greatest Wolverine career ever with a second place overall finish. Teammate Deedra Dollesin finished ninth with a 160, while Jessica Pisenti and Madison Hambleton recorded a 169 and a 170, respectively. Sierra's Big 8 rival, Modesto Jr. College, finished fourth with a 678.
