The Patron's and Aquatics Program at Sierra College are once again teaming up to host a delicious crab and shrimp feed. This annual fund raiser will be held on Friday, February 10, from 6-10pm. The dinner will be held at the Blue Goose Event Center in Loomis. Along with great food, the evening will include a silent auction and raffle.
Tickets are $45 per person. The deadline to order tickets is Thursday, February 3. Contact the Patrons at: (916) 660-8232.
Annually Patrons provide $5000 in grants to the Arts and Humanities Departments. Emphasis is on grants that directly affect students. Additional funding is awarded during the year as the opportunity arises. Patrons award an annual $300 scholarship to a student in the Arts. (Music, Art, Drama) Patrons give three $50 awards annually to students competing in the student art show.
Since Patrons was established in 1984 more than $140,000 has been donated to Sierra College. Notable work includes the “Take a Seat Project” which raised $16,500 to refurbish the seats in Dietrich Theatre, and more than $9000 given as scholarships to local music students to attend Donner Mine Music Camp (grades 6-12).
