A unique performance by a musician who builds his own stringed instruments out of unusual objects.

Event Details

At the January regular meeting of the Sierra College Patrons, a special event is planned. The Patrons will present a unique performance by local musician Michael Johnson.  Michael is a carpenter by trade, an artist and a musician. He makes string instruments out of found objects; cigar boxes, found boxes, drift wood, and of course metal.  Some have one string, some have more.  All are playable.  If he finishes an instrument and he plays it and he doesn’t like the sound, he smashes it!  Michael will play for us and share his instruments.

This performance will be held on January 6th in the Fireside Room, located in building J on Rocklin campus at 12:30 pm.  To make a reservation for lunch call Joan at 916-663-3408 by January 2nd.
