With Christopher Old, LMFT
The Sierra College Tahoe-Truckee Campus Dean's Lecture Series Presents: "Positive Psychology: Unlocking the secrets to optimal well-being" with Christopher Old, LMFT. Christopher Old will share practical resources while exploring some of the science behind creating well-being in one’s life. Teens, parents and grandparents are encouraged to attend together or on their own. During the hour and fifteen minute presentation attendees will be introduced to the field of positive psychology and examine ways to create a life that fosters fulfillment and healthy relationships. Small group discussions and activities will be included during the discussion of keys to well-being such as positive emotions, flow, relationships and meaning.
“For many years, the field of psychology focused primarily on what goes wrong and how to alleviate negative symptoms. Positive Psychology sees symptom relief as only half of the equation,” explains Old. “During our session on March 14 you will be exposed to tools that can help you go beyond just symptom relief to generate optimal well-being and thrive.”
Old is also a National Certified Counselor. He uses talk therapy and adventure therapy, a combination of experiential activities and traditional counseling, to help people increase self-knowledge and improve relationships. He can be reached at www.mountainmentalhealth.com or (530) 582-4171.
Come early to the program for socializing and refreshments at 6:30 pm. The presentation will run from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm. Please RSVP at: (530) 550-2290.
