Event Details

Earth Days 2014: “Natural Resources — 100% Reliant”

This year the Sierra College Earth Day Celebration will emphasize the human reliance on natural resources for all of our needs and encouraging sustainability in our families, businesses, and communities.  We will be promoting the “6-R’s” (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Return, Refuse, Rethink), conservation and preservation, local foods, local sustainable businesses, local music as well as local watersheds, native flora and fauna, public transportation, and more.

Events scheduled so far:

  • Mon., April 21: Meatless Monday
  • Tues., April 22: Water Wars, Warriors and Climate Change, in partnership with Placer County Water Agency. 4pm in Dietrich Theatre
  • Wed., Thur., April 23-24: Earth Day Festival 10am-2pm at the Campus Center [bands, speakers, climbing wall (Thursday only), plant sale (Wednesday only), local organizations, campus clubs, nature walks and more]
  • April 24: 7pm, Dietrich Theatre: Wild and Scenic Film Festival (tickets available online)
  • April 25: 7pm, Dietrich Theatre: Lee Stetson starring as John Muir in A Conversation With a Tramp
