The Sierra College Ridley Gallery presents the "17th Annual Juried Student Exhibition," including a variety of works from the very talented student artists of Sierra College. Works will be selected from the categories of Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Printmaking, Multimedia, Photography, Sculpture, Jewelry, Metal Art, Woodworking, Mixed Media, Graphic Design, Digital Imaging, Multimedia, and Video.
This year’s exhibition is juried by Angela Tahti, Executive Director of PlacerArts. PlacerArts is the Arts Council of Placer County, countywide catalyst for the arts and humanities.
This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for students to get a taste of professional exhibition practices and procedures, to gain exposure and build their exhibition resumes, and have the chance at winning cash prizes and awards. All works must have been created in the past two years, while a student at any Sierra College Campus location. Last year's award winner's included Zoe Gibson, Jesse Six, Peggy Just Peterson, and Robert Hosea, among others. This year's awards are generously provided by the Sierra College Patrons Club, the Friends of the Library, Utrecht Art Supplies, University Art, N2 Pottery, Systech Displays, Alpha Fired Arts, IMCA Industrial Minerals Co, ARC Printing, and the Associated Students of Sierra College.
A reception, awards ceremony, and gallery talk for this exhibition will be held on Tuesday May 13 from 5-7pm. Ridley Galley is located on the first floor of the Library/LR 102, on the Rocklin campus, located at 5000 Rocklin Rd, Rocklin. The exhibit runs from May 12-May 22. Regular hours for Ridley Gallery are 11am-6:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Admission to Ridley Gallery is free and open to the public.
