Chamber Music Alive!
Sixth Season
Press release (.pdf)
Our sixth season builds on the phenomenal excitement generated by our chamber orchestra concert last December. As a first for us, we will have a chamber orchestra of hand-picked players, 32 in all—gracing our stages for our opening concerts, October 4 & 5. Virtuoso violinist Michelle You will be our soloist in the beloved Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, in a program that will also include Beethoven’s revolutionary Second Symphony and Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll.
We continue to explore the interconnection between orchestral and chamber music in our January concerts, when the internationally acclaimed pianist Adam Neiman returns for a program that includes Brahms’ highly orchestral and explosive piano quintet and Beethoven’s concert-like Kreutzer Sonata for violin and piano. Our April concert will include the show-stopping Chausson Poeme, which is often performed by violin and orchestra, and perhaps the most famous chamber music work, Schubert’s piano quintet, “The Trout,” which includes in its orchestration a piano and all the string instruments, including the string bass. Audience favorite Natsuki Fukasawa will be our esteemed guest pianist. Subscribers will benefit from gaining a special perspective from all of these linked concerts.
We are committed to continuing the excitement that has made a Chamber Music Alive! an important part of your life and of the lives of a growing number of people in our area. Your commitment to subscribe now, give us the vital financial support to continue our work.
