Call to Artists: Request for a Proposal

The Sierra College Patrons are seeking proposals for a mobile type structure that can hang from the ceiling, or be located on the ground floor of a stairway in the new Math and Tech. Building on the Rocklin Sierra College Campus.

The major stairwell of the Building is 3 stories high. The dimensions of the stairwell are 7 feet x 11 feet x 60 feet high + or – 3 feet in the height. There is good light so any material that reflects color and light off the walls would draw added interest. We are interested in a moving piece, if that is possible. The art would hang off two beams on the ceiling. We want the piece to be seen from all floors of the building.

Our working budget is $8,000. When submitting your proposal please estimate a time frame to complete this project. Installation of the art piece will be coordinated between the Sierra College Facilities Dept. and the artist.
