2009 Season
Congratulations to Lynne Cowan to be the first Northern California golfer to finish #1 individual medalist at the California Community College Ladies Golf State Championships.
Lynne shot a 77-75-152 to lead the field by 3 shots. We are so proud of her accomplishments this season. Kathy DeYoung had a great first round 84 and finished 20th. We would like to thank them so much for their effort all season.
Congratulations to the Women's Golf team for finishing in 2nd place in the Big 8 Conference 3rd at the Northern California Championships.
Lynne Cowan was the #1 Medalist at NorCals with a 73-78-151 total and qualfied to the State Tournament in the individual competition. This is only the 2nd time in team history that a Sierra College athlete has been the top medalist at the Northern California Championships. Robin Fernstrom also achieved that feat in 2007.
Kathy DeYoung also qualified to compete at the State Tournament in the individual competition.
The State Touranment will be held at Kings Country Club in Hanford, Monday and Tuesday, November 16-17. Good Luck and Finish Strong!
- Lynne Cowan earned MVP honors for her 72.63 scoring average.
- Kathy DeYoung, finished the regular season #7 with a 83.13 scoring average
- Cheyenne Gott, finished the regular season Tied for #5 with a 83.00 scoring average.
- Casey Remy, helped the team finish strong.
- Lynne, Kathy and Cheyenne all made the Big 8 All Conference team.
