Online Live Counseling Facts
Do you have a high speed Internet connection and a computer with a webcam and/or microphone? If you do, you can call 916-660-7400 or stop by the Rocklin Campus Counseling department front desk in the Winstead Building and ask to schedule an Online Counseling appointment.
Your online counseling appointment will utilize Adobe Connect web conferencing technology, which allows you to meet with a counselor live online to receive educational and/or career counseling.
Once you schedule your Online Counseling appointment an email invitation will be sent to your Sierra College student email address with meeting access information.
To utilize Adobe Connect web conferencing technology for a live online counseling appointment your computer will need:
- A high speed Internet connection
- Microphone (preferably a noise-cancelling headset microphone)
- Speakers
- Webcam (optional)
- A web browser
- Adobe Flash Player version 10.1 or greater.
About Adobe Connect
Adobe Connect supports nearly any operating system including Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and Solaris, as well as the most widely used browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
(In the near future we hope to have an online appointment scheduling system exclusively for our live Online Counseling appointments. Currently, the only online appointment scheduling system we have is for Rocklin Campus in-person appointments.)
