The Individualized Learning Program (ILP) is open to all Sierra College students. ILP is offered for select Math A and Math D courses, as designated in the Class Schedule. It is designed to offer additional support and tutoring to students and is therefore well suited to anyone with math anxiety or who wants extra assistance with their math class. The ILP Program is specially designed to meet the needs of students who are math anxious or who struggle with math by offering a supportive environment in the ILP Lab and classes.
ILP classes offer a classroom lecture supplemented by an optional lab. ILP classes are 5 units and meet either 2 or 4 days a week. The 4 day a week format allows for more frequent but shorter classes, with smaller amounts of information presented each class session. Additionally, students are permitted to take their exams outside of class in alternative locations such as the LRC Testing Center or the ILP Testing Room. This gives students, especially those with math or test anxiety, the ability to take their exams with minimal stress or distractions.
