The Testing Center provides free testing services for Sierra College students taking make-up exams and exams given through Distance Learning courses. The Center also provides fee-based proctoring for non-Sierra College students.
All Sierra College students who use the Testing Center must have a Student ID Card in order to take an exam, test, or quiz. The cards are scanned so that the student attendance and testing information is recorded in the Center’s databank. Students can get an ID card at the Winstead Center, Window 5. You will need your ID card to check out library materials, to use the computer lab or tutor center.
For both Rocklin and Nevada County Campuses
Available only on the Rocklin Campus
The Sierra College Testing Center provides test proctoring to non-Sierra College students on a fee-based basis. Fees are based on how much time your instructor or testing center allows, not on the time you actually take.
Exams that allow up to two hours will incur a fee of $20.00. For exams allowing between two and four hours, the fee will be $40.00. Exams over 4 hours are $80.
If a student wishes, a semester pass can be purchased for $80.00. The pass allows unlimited test proctoring during the semester in which the pass is purchased. Passes can only be used for one semester.
In order to receive test proctoring services, students must pay the fee, in advance, at the cashier’s window in the Winstead Building.
The NCC Testing Center currently does not provide proctoring services for non-Sierra College students.
Faculty can deliver materials either in person or electronically at either location. However, all tests MUST be accompanied by a set of instructions.
Instructors are asked to complete the appropriate proctoring form when requesting these services.
Please note there are two forms, a Distance Learning Proctoring Permission Form and a Testing Center Proctoring Permission Form.
