This program is designed to help student athletes achieve academic success at Sierra College. Student athletes, who assess into one or more developmental courses (reading, writing or math) or are recommended by the coaches, will study for three hours or more per week.

Student Athletes will:

  • Be provided with tutors
  • Learn how to study
  • Learn how to take notes
  • Learn how to take tests
  • Learn how to manage their time
  • Learn how to write papers
  • Understand their learning style

It has been documented that student athletes attending the Straight AAA’s Program have a marked increase in their GPA over those student athletes who are not participating in the program.

Occasionally speakers will be invited to present and discuss issues pertinent to student athletes. The group discussions will be facilitated by Mr. James.
