Student SenateThe mission of the Student Senate is to provide students with the opportunities to participate in the college’s shared governance process, to work with the Sierra College community to develop activities and support programs and services that promote student success and foster campus community.

Meetings:

During the semester the Senate meets Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the LRC (LR 193) on the Rocklin Campus. Everyone welcome!

Make a difference: Become a member of the Student Senate at Sierra College

You will find being a member of the Student Senate is both rewarding and demanding at the same time. The skills you develop working with the faculty and staff on campus, you will use long after you leave Sierra College. I look forward to working with you and wish you the best of luck.

Tim Haenny - Student Senate Advisor, Campus Life Coordinator

The Student Senate shall dedicate itself, above all, to the service of the students it represents. To this end, the Student Senate shall:

  • Strive to be a unified voice for a diverse student body, while taking into consideration the unique needs of individual students.
  • Promote student's rights and provide an unbiased forum for voicing student concerns.
  • Participate in decisions that affect students, especially through shared governance.
  • Responsibly manage ASSC resources, while at the same time striving to provide students with optimum benefits.
  • Responsibly manage ASSC resources, while at the same time striving to provide students with optimum benefits.
  • Organize, promote and sponsor student activities and clubs.
  • Promote understanding and cooperation between students, faculty, staff, and administration at Sierra College in order to help students achieve their educational goals.

Student empowerment, leadership and participation are the tools used to foster student growth outside of the classroom. By providing programs and services which complement the classroom experience, we hope to develop informed, educated leaders.
