Sierra College International Student ProgramHousing is very important and at Sierra College, we have an advisor who works with international students to help them find the type of housing that best fits their situation and needs. On-campus housing and homestay options fill very quickly and completing an application and paying the application fee does not guarantee placement. The best way to make sure you have housing is to apply early.

On Campus Housing

On campus, the Residential Hall Dormitories offer students an opportunity to live on campus in a supportive and friendly group environment. The program can enhance your personal development by offering a group living and learning environment.  The staff treats each resident as a responsible adult.  They provide supervision, general assistance and guidance through community-oriented expectations and policies designed to help you make positive choices.

A furnished room includes: Use of all public areas and equipment, plus a weekly food allowance (food service is available while classes are in session), utilities (phone service and cable TV services excluded, however phone and internet service can be installed at student's expense), private parking lot (residents with vehicle in good working condition may park in lot with the purchase of resident permit), bicycle storage key, and planned group activities.

How to apply for Housing

Spaces in the residence hall fill up very quickly. In order to reserve your space, you need to download and print the application. Fill out the application and email it to us at internationalstudents@sierracollege.edu

Homestay

Students are placed in the home of an American host family. Host families are prescreened by the college and a full security background check is run.  Homestay provides the student and the host a unique experience by giving them a chance to learn about different cultures, broadening their world view and perspectives, and providing an opportunity to make a new friend for life. Families may be singles, retired people or families with children.

How to apply to Homestay

Spaces for homestay fill up very quickly. In order to reserve your space, you need to download and print the application. Fill out the application, along with the $299.00 non-refundable application fee and mail those two items to us. If we have space available we will reserve it for you.  If we cannot accommodate your request, we will help you with other housing options and refund your fee. Deadlines for  applying for homestay are: November 15 for spring semester, July 1 for fall semester.
