The Patrons Club, a volunteer arm of the Sierra College Foundation, invites the public and those interested in becoming members of the organization to attend their March 2 meeting, featuring a tour of Sierra College art installations. Campus art includes sculptures, murals, metal art, and kinetic sculptures as well as a tranquil pond.

The campus art tour will be led by ANTHONY MAKI GILL. MAKI GILL is a well-known local artist proficient in all types of media including painting, sculpture and ceramics and is currently in his 18th year providing technical support to the Art and Design Programs at Sierra College. He is the co-creator with Archie Warren of the twin metal sculptures known on campus as Communication Kachinas. The sculpture, which will be included on the tour, is designed to amplify voices. Among the other artworks viewed during the tour will be several commissioned by and donated through the Patron’s in an effort to beautify the Sierra College Campus and raise awareness of the arts.

The meeting will be held on Monday, March 2 from 12:30–2:30 p.m. at the Sierra College Rocklin Campus in the Fireside Room located in the Campus Center (Building J). Lunch (which is optional) will be served at 12:30. The cost of the lunch is $11 and requires an RSVP. Please call Joan Edwards at 916-663-3408 by January 30.
