Passing the BatonBlue Line Arts is pleased to present “Passing the Baton”, an Invitational Exhibition of Ceramic Educators of Northern California, hosted by the Ridley Gallery at Sierra College. This exhibition runs April 6-23, with a reception April 21 from 5:00-7:00. Admission to Ridley Gallery is free and the public is welcome and encouraged to visit.

Sacramento Valley is a hot bed of ceramics, pioneered by great educators like Ruth Rippon and Robert Arneson. The amazing students that they produced grew to be artists and educators are all around us producing beautiful works. We would like to show our appreciation and showcase 30 of these wonderful teachers from our region. These Northern California educators have continued the high level of excellence in ceramic instruction established by the trail blazers of the 60's and 70's, and their students' work demonstrates this. Comprised of high school teachers, Community College Instructors and University Professors, both doing functional and sculptural works, this exhibition is in conjunction with the America's Clayfest National Juried Exhibition at Blue Line Gallery, and America's Clayfest Student Exhibition at the Art League of Lincoln Gallery.

Ridley Gallery is located on the first floor of the Library/LR 102, on the Rocklin campus, 5000 Rocklin Rd, Rocklin. Regular hours for Ridley Gallery are 11am -6:00 pm Monday through Thursday. For more information about this presentation and other exhibitions at the Ridley Gallery, contact the gallery director, Lisa Marasso at: (916) 660-8152, or email: lmarasso@sierracollege.edu.
