The Sierra College Patrons, a support group of the Sierra College Foundation, invites the public and those interested in becoming members of the organization to attend their February 1 meeting featuring faculty members Robin Persiani and Jessica Schamber who will discuss Sierra College's innovative ESL Program.

Hundreds of people from the former Soviet Union, Asia, Central and South America, the Middle East and many other countries call northern California home. Learning how to speak English can be a challenge, but the Sierra College ESL Program seeks to help in the pursuit by employing innovative methods, small classes and lots of individual attention for attending students. Through the use of a variety of current methods and techniques, successful ESL students learn to comprehend and produce the English language and master skills useful to academic, workplace and community needs.

The meeting will be held on Monday, February 1 from 12:30–2:30 p.m. at the Sierra College Rocklin Campus in the Fireside Room located in the Campus Center (Building J). Lunch (which is optional) will be served at 12:30. The cost of the lunch is $11 and requires an RSVP. Please call Joan Edwards at 916-663-3408 by January 25.
