Anders GustavssonThe newest startups in town will be making their pitches on May 26 at 1108 R Street from 5:30 to 7:30pm. RSVP at https://attending.io/events/startup-hustle to see presentations from 10 teams that participated in Startup Hustle, an intensive eight week entrepreneurial boot camp developed by Hacker Lab in partnership with Sierra College.

This is the culminating event for local problem solvers who have been working overtime to investigate customer needs, create solutions and discover a business model, according to Eric Ullrich, Co-Founder, Hacker Lab. “Join us in celebrating innovation and discover how you can get involved as a team member, partner, investor, mentor or future entrepreneur,” said Ullrich. “The teams are ready to show off what they’ve created and explain what is needed to get their idea to the next level.”

Networking starts at 5:30pm, presentations will be made from 6 to 7:30pm and the after party will move to Bottle and Barlow.

Startup Hustle Demo Night is hosted by Hacker Lab with the support of sponsors: Sierra College, SMUD, City of Sacramento, City of Rocklin and VSP Vision Care.

Startup Hustle supports innovation and the creation of small businesses, according to Carol Pepper-Kittredge, Director, Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT), Sierra College. “The structure of the eight week boot camp gives people with an idea a place to start,” said Pepper-Kittredge. “The methodology helps participants evaluate the feasibility of their ideas, identify real needs in the marketplace and benefit from mentors’ advice. Small businesses like these are vital to our local economy.” Hacker Lab powered by Sierra College in Rocklin is a maker and co-working space that offers classes and start-up resources, http://hackerlab.org/sierracollege/
