The Sierra College Patrons, a support group of the Sierra College Foundation, invites the public and those interested in becoming members of the organization to attend their October 3 meeting featuring a musical interlude by students from the Donner Mine Music Camp as well as excerpts from "Anything Goes" presented by the Sierra College Theater Department under the direction of Thor Tivol.

The Donnor Mine Music Camp is located on rustic acreage near Grass Valley. Each summer the Camp attracts serious music students from several local communities including Rocklin, Lake Tahoe, Fresno, and Yreka among others. Students spend a week together in this idyllic setting focusing on learning and improving their musical techniques as well as interacting with other exceptional students. The memories and friendships that are developed last for a lifetime. Sierra College Patrons generously donate $1000 to the Donner Mine Music Camp annually which is distributed in the form of ten $100 student scholarships. Since its inception 27 years ago, the camp has welcomed and trained more than 5000 musicians. Monday's performance will feature several local student musicians under the direction of Elaine Wersky, Musical Director.

In addition, Thor Tivol will bring some of the Sierra College Theater students to present a preview of their fall musical, "Anything Goes". Both musical presentations promise to be inspiring.

The meeting will be held on Monday, October 3rd from 12:30–2:30 p.m. at the Sierra College Rocklin Campus in the Fireside Room located in the Campus Center (Building J). Lunch (which is optional) will be served at 12:30. The cost of the lunch is $11 and requires an RSVP. Please call Joan Edwards at 916-663-3408 by September 28.
