Sierra College Honors Veterans with Walk a Mile in their Boots Observance

) Mark your calendars for this year’s Walk A Mile In Their Boots observance to be held Thursday, November 10 from 9am until 1:45pm.

This observance, held each year at the Rocklin Campus, is an opportunity to recognize and thank our veterans on campus and in the community for their service. It also provides an opportunity for students, staff and community members to experience some elements of military service.

Schedule of Activities

  • 9:00 am – Arrive in front of LRC
  • 9:09 am – Introduction
  • 9:11 am – Moment of Silence
  • 9:12 am – Amazing Grace: Bagpipe
  • 9:14 am – National Anthem: Student performer and Flag Drop
  • 9:17 am – Student veteran, President Willy Duncan and Congressman McClintock
  • 9:30 am – 1:00 pm Vendor Resource Fair and Training Exercises *
  • 1:45 pm - Raffle Drawing in Veterans Center

*Training Exercises: Ruck Sack March, Drill & Ceremony, Rock Wall.

The National Anthem will be performed along with live music throughout event.

* Recognition Award for participation tickets will be handed out to each participant in all of the training exercises and when a participant visits a vendor’s booth.
