Social and Behavioral Sciences

A.A. or A.S. Degree

Build an A.A. or A.S. degree around your future career with our Social and Behavioral Science program. We offer a broad base of topics regarding human behavior. You will study about yourself and those around you in the context of a social group. With our coursework, you will become more skilled and gathering and applying information, learn about the nature of societies, and gain sharper critical thinking skills. In order to get the most out of this program, you will need the chance to choose the emphasis that best fits your transfer requirements.

Program Student Learning Outcomes (PSLOs)

  • Read, and discuss the influences of race, ethnicity, religion, economic status, gender, sexual orientation.
  • Evaluate and examine theories of race relations and the persistence of racism, classism, sexism.
  • Analyze the concepts of individual/institutional racism, cycles of oppression, matrix of domination and policies of exclusion.
  • Identify, recognize and appreciate the extensive contributions of historically marginalized people in the formation of the U.S.
