Save Working Memory

Many of us fear losing our cognitive abilities. Advances in experimental techniques are being paired with cognitive training to see if lasting measurable benefits can be found.

"Our work in healthy young and older adults pairs working memory training with transcranial direct current stimulation," shares Dr. Marian Berryhill who will be leading this session for Sierra College Insights. "Although early, these data indicate that some benefits can be found and they extend to unpracticed skills."

What people are saying about the Sierra College Insights series…

“The presentation by Dr. Bateman was a delightful experience. The entire audience was involved, responsive, and very entertained. In our world today of recession, health care worries, wars and personal losses, her lecture was the perfect antidote and a wonderful way to spend a few hours. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. Dr. Bateman is undoubtedly a fantastic asset to the college.”

“Last night was outstanding. Seldom do I have such a complete about face upon hearing a lecture. Thank you for planning and executing such an interesting and informative presentation. I certainly appreciate your scheduling Nigel Allan as a speaker. Your lecture series is a wonderful enrichment for our community.”
